Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets (via DLS method) in the IPL 2023 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to lift a fifth IPL trophy on Monday.
With this result, CSK have now won the joint most number of IPL trophies along with Mumbai Indians (MI).
Batting first on Monday, in a game that was delayed by 24 hours due to the weather, GT posted a formidable total of 214 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
Sai Sudharsan starred for GT scoring 96 off 47 balls while Wriddhiman complimented him by scoring 54 off 39 balls.
Rain appeared again to halt CSK's run chase and eventually, they had to chase 171 runs in 15 overs.

While chasing, Devon Conway gave CSK the perfect start by scoring 47 off 25 balls and Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane built on his start to guide their team to glory.
There was some late drama though and with 10 runs required off2 balls, Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four off Mohit Sharma's bowling to guide the Chennai Super Kings to an incredible title win.
MS Dhoni is now the joint most successful IPL captain along with Rohit Sharma, with five titles as a captain to his name.
