Here's everything you need to know about the ICC World Test Championship final.

When is the World Test Championship final?

The final of the World Test Championship will be held from June 7 to June 11, with June 12 in place as a reserve day.

For both sets of players, it will be their first Test match action since this year's Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in India.

Played through February and March, the home side retained the trophy with a 2-1 series victory.

Where is the World Test Championship final?

The final will be played at The Oval in London.

It will be the second-ever WTC final after the maiden edition was played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Initially scheduled for Lord's, the Rose Bowl's on-site accommodation meant it could facilitate a bio-secure bubble during the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets to take out the inaugural Test championship.

Who is playing in the World Test Championship final?

By beating India in the third Test in early March, Australia officially booked its spot in the WTC final.

India has also qualified - but not without a hiccup.

India had to beat Australia in the fourth Test to secure a spot in the final; a draw or a loss combined with two Sri Lanka wins over New Zealand would see Sri Lanka leap India and make the WTC final.

With the fourth Test drawn between Australia and India, Sri Lanka were in control of the first Test against New Zealand before a final ball bye - which The Black Caps ran through - secured New Zealand the win and ended any hopes of a WTC final for Sri Lanka.

How to watch the World Test Championship final

The WTC final will be broadcast on Fox Sports in Australia and can be streamed on Kayo, as well as ICC.tv.

In India, it is being broadcast on Star Sports, with live streaming available on Disney+ Hotstar.

How does the World Test Championship work?

After being canceled in both 2013 and 2017, the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) was finally introduced in 2019.

The championship runs over the course of two years, with the current edition beginning in August 2021 and the final set to be held in June 2023.

Teams are awarded points for 12 points for a victory, six points for a tie, four points for a draw, and zero points for a loss, with percentages factored in for each result and sides ranked on those percentages.
