Kayla Harrison - PFL
(PFL)

After re-signing with the Professional Fighters League, Kayla Harrison is ready to become a three-time champion with the promotion. Following the 2022 tournament finals, Harrison has a goal to move on to bigger things.

Harrison competes in the main event of PFL 10, aka the PFL Word Championship Finals, inside the Hulu Theater in New York on November 25. Her opponent will be a familiar face in Larissa Pacheco.

A two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo, the 32-year-old Harrison has been an unstoppable force in the PFL. She won the PFL lightweight tournament in 2019 and 2021. Harrison told MMA Fighting she is ready to focus on fights outside the tournament format. She may also make a move out of the lightweight division.

“Yeah, this will be my last season,” Harrison said. “I’m 32. When I tell you that it is a mental and physical grind to get to this title, it certainly is. I know it’s time for me to be patient and get the big fights… I’m ready to be patient and wait for the fights that are really going to catapult my legacy.”

Harrison faces Pacheco, who she is 2-0 against in MMA. Harrison beat Pacheco in her lightweight debut in 2019 and the 2019 PFL Finals. During the 2021 season, Pacheco was removed from the tournament semi-finals after missing weight. Pacheco is currently on a five-fight win streak.

Other tournament final fights include:

  • Brendan Loughnane vs. Bubba Jenkins (featherweight)
  • Ante Delija vs. Matheus Scheffel (heavyweight)
  • Stevie Ray vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier (lightweight)
  • Sadibou Sy vs. Dilano Taylor (welterweight)
  • Rob Wilkinson vs. Omari Akhmedov (light heavyweight)

Fans will also get to see the PFL debuts of former UFC stars Marlon Moraes and Aspen Ladd, as well as Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali.
