Birmingham's Leon Edwards heads north to Manchester and defends his status as UFC welterweight champion at UFC 304. He faces Belal Muhammad in a rematch from a controversial contest three years ago.
The 32-year-old Edwards competes in Manchester for the first time since submitting Albert Tumenov in 2016, the second win of his current 13-fight unbeaten streak. He beat Kamaru Usman via a dramatic walk-off head kick in 2022 to win the UFC welterweight title and defended the belt against Usman in London.
Muhammad faced Edwards in March 2021, the fight ending in a no-contest following an eye poke to the former. He has won five straight since the Edwards fight but hasn’t competed in a year. It is the first title fight for “Remember the Name,” finally earning a shot at gold after years of success, similar to Edwards’ career.
The main card features plenty of local competitors. The co-main event will see Tom Aspinall drive 15 minutes from Salford to defend the interim UFC heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes. Aspinall and Blaydes last fought in July 2022, where Aspinall injured his knee 15 seconds into the fight.

Since then, Aspinall has won two straight, beating Sergei Pavlovich to win the interim belt. Blaydes lost against Pavlovich but knocked out Jailton Almeida in his last fight.
Also on the card will be Liverpool’s Paddy Pimblett facing “King” Bobby Green. “The Baddy” is on a seven-fight win streak and competes in Manchester for the first time since 2020. Fighting out of Manchester, unbeaten top flyweight contender Muhammad Mokaev faces former RIZIN champion Manel Kape.

The prelims will feature Liverpool's Molly McCann, 2-2 in her last four fights, against Bruna Brasil. "The Special One," a Dana White's Contender Series standout, is also 2-2 in her last four fights.
Nathaniel Wood also faces Daniel Pineda. Fighting out of Morden, Wood looks to rebound after having his three-fight win streak snapped, while Pineda is 1-1 with one no-contest in three fights.
