It's almost time for NBA basketball once again.

NBA fans were spoiled during the 2024 offseason as Summer League action led straight into an unforgettable few weeks of international competition that culminated with the gold medal game in the Olympics. Now, the focus shifts to the upcoming NBA season.

After a few key dates for the 2024-25 season have been revealed, NBA fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the 82-game schedule for all 30 teams.

Here is when you can expect to know the schedule for the 2024-25 season in its entirety.

When will the NBA schedule be released?

The NBA will release the schedule for the 2024-25 season on Thursday, Aug. 15, according to league insider Marc Stein. The complete schedule for the NBA Cup will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

It is worth noting that last year, the schedule for the 2023-24 season was released on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023. The year before, the complete schedule for the 2022-23 season was released by the NBA on Aug. 17, 2022.

Based on precedent, the release of the complete schedule for the 2024-25 NBA season is imminent.

In addition to the official announcement of the NBA Cup, the schedule for opening night of the 2024-25 season and Christmas Day have reportedly been revealed.

  • Sept. 25: First day of practice for Celtics, Nuggets
  • Sept. 30: Media days for the remaining 28 NBA teams

  • Oct. 4, 6: Celtics vs. Nuggets in NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024
  • Oct. 12-13: Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend (Springfield, Mass.)
  • Oct. 18: NBA preseason concludes
  • Oct. 22: Opening night of the 2024-25 NBA regular season
  • Nov. 12: Emirates NBA Cup begins
  • Dec. 3: Emirates NBA Cup Group Stage concludes
  • Dec. 10-11: Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinals
