Harrison Butker is aware he's made a couple of "enemies" since his infamous commencement speech in May.

The Chiefs kicker has been the most talked-about player at his position in the NFL this year for all the wrong reasons. A few months after his commencement speech at Benedictine College, he's giving people yet another reason to criticize him.

While Butker, 29, did not offer up another controversial declaration, he did call back to the Benedictine College commencement. The kicker referenced the "enemies" he gained after his infamous speech in his latest post to X, formerly Twitter.

Social media didn't take Butker's post lightly, especially since he misattributed a quote to former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Here's what Butker posted to X on Sunday.

What did Harrison Butker say?

Butker posted a quote to X alongside three photos Sunday. He credited the quote to Churchill, the iconic World War II leader of the United Kingdom.

While the Chiefs kicker has been a controversial figure over the past few months, there hasn't been much chatter over his May commencement speech ahead of the 2024 NFL season. But Butker stirred the pot once again with his latest post.

Butker is seemingly calling out those who criticized him for his beliefs, referring to them as his "enemies." Social media quickly took issue with the post — especially since the quote isn't actually from Churchill.

The quote is from an 1845 essay written by famed French author and politician Victor Hugo, according to PolitiFact. Hugo is most famous for his novels, "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" and "Les Misérables."

Hugo's essay, "Villemain," was published 29 years before Churchill was born.
