The second edition of The Hundred is well underway as fans flock to some of the biggest cricket stadiums in England hoping for a summer's afternoon or evening of sun and entertainment.
Sunny weather may not be guaranteed in this country but entertainment and drama in cricket's newest format will most certainly be on offer for those fans hoping to watch some of the best cricketers in action in both the men's and women's game.
This year's tournament got underway on August 3 and will end at Lord's on September, 3 when the finalists battle it out for glory.
If you're a Test cricket purist or a T20 fanatic and aren't too sure what The Hundred is all about then you've come to the right place as The Sporting News takes you through all you need to know.
What is The Hundred format and rules?
How many balls in The Hundred? The clue's in the name! Each team will bowl 100 balls (compared to 120 in T20 cricket) and instead of six ball overs, it'll be ten balls in a row from each. The motivation behind this quirk is to speed up play, meaning a match will take no longer than two-and-a-half-hours.
After one team has bowled 100 balls they will switch to batting and face 100 balls. Whichever team has scored the most runs wins the match. Simple.
Bowlers can deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls and a bowler can deliver no more than 20 balls per match.
A 25-ball powerplay for each team takes place at the start of each innings meaning two fielders are allowed outside of the initial 30-yard circle during the powerplay.
What teams and players are in The Hundred?
The Hundred features a men's and women's tournament, with eight teams across seven cities battling for the right to be crowned the winner come the end of the month-long bonanza.
In each edition, teams play against each other home and away in the group round of 32 matches. Whichever team finishes top progresses to the final while second and third place in the table face off against each other in a single eliminator match to reach the showpiece event.
