Ansu Fati could be in line for a Barcelona comeback after the international break after returning to training this week.

The Spanish international has seen his meteoric rise blighted by injury across the last 18 months and his career is heading towards a crucial crossroads this season.

Brighton & Hove Albion opted against a permanent transfer move for Fati, after he showed flashes of promise on loan at the AMEX Stadium last season, and the 21-year-old returned to Catalonia in June.

A positive start to preseason was disrupted by a foot injury at the end of July with Hansi Flick omitting him from the squad who travelled to the USA.

Fati has been in recovery since, but as per reports from Marca, he will join full training sessions in the coming days.

Frenkie de Jong is a little further behind in his rehabilitation, but Fati could be in contention as Barcelona return to action at Girona on September 15, if there are no further setbacks.

Flick's team then kickoff their UEFA Champions League campaign against AS Monaco on September 19.
