The Kansas City Royals would be in the playoffs if the 2024 Major League Baseball were to end today.

Kansas City currently holds the final American League Wild Card spot with an impressive 56-47 record. Not many people expected the Royals to be this good this year. Kansas City made some strategic investments this past offseason in free agency and pretty much have all worked out.

The Royals also have one of the best young players in baseball in Bobby Witt Jr. All in all, things are looking up for Kansas City. A strong deadline could only help prove this fact even more and Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer linked the Royals to Tampa Bay Rays All-Star Randy Arozarena.

"Production from the outfield has been virtually nonexistent for the Royals in 2024," Rymer said. "Their outfielders rank 27th with 1.2 WAR and 29th with a .640 OPS. As such, you can see why general manager J.J. Picollo wants to add an outfielder.

"However, Picollo didn't sound overly committed to being aggressive on the trade market as of late June. He seems to know the club's contention window only just opened, which is to say nothing of the weak hand its farm system represents."

Kansas City needs some help in the outfield and Arozarena seems like he is on his way out of Tampa Bay. He struggled to begin the year but has looked more like himself lately. He is a one-time All-Star and was the 2021 American League Rookie of the Year.

The Royals need a boost and Arozarena could be that guy.
