Mother Nature is providing all sorts of trouble to the NASCAR schedule in Michigan.

The FireKeepers Casino 400 was set for Sunday at Michigan International Speedway, but the race could not be completed that day due to inclement weather in the area.

Sunday marked the second consecutive day that weather disrupted the racing schedule in Brooklyn, Michigan. Rain first interrupted the NASCAR Cup Series practice before canceling the qualifying competition, forcing the starting grid to be set by performance metrics.

The rain in the area also caused delays to Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, though that was eventually finished.

Here is what to know about the race and when it will pick back up.

Is NASCAR race postponed?

The FireKeepers Casino 400 in Michigan is postponed for the remainder of Sunday. The race is set to pick back up at 11 a.m. ET Monday, Aug. 19.

The race was originally scheduled for a 2:36 p.m. ET start time Sunday, but rain in the area put the start on hold. The precipitation delayed the green flag until 4:55 p.m. ET, but after 51 laps, the track's conditions forced the postponement.

At the time of the stoppage, Chase Elliott led the race in the No. 9 car, with Martin Truex Jr., Bubba Wallace, Alex Bowman and Tyler Reddick rounding out the top five.

Ryan Blaney earned the Stage 1 win after leading for the first eight laps. When he pitted during the stage intermission, Elliott pulled ahead of him for the lead.
