The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team did not pull a Rory McIlroy.

After officially getting eliminated from the 2024 Men’s College World Series 15-4 against their SEC rival Florida Gators, the Bat Cats showed class and gratitude when consoling each other after the game.

This kind of camaraderie, win or lose, is what makes college sports so special. It’s also a good reminder that this authenticity needs to remain with a murky future of all college athletes now getting paid.

The Wildcats weren’t given much hype in the preseason, but of course had a fantastic year and rose all the way up to No. 2, and finished the season with a CWS appearance and a spectacular 46-16 record.

So all SEC and college baseball fans agree. Well done Bat Cats. Well done.
