Wisconsin football will face off against Western Michigan in a season-opener on Friday night.
After an up-and-down performance in 2023, finishing 7-6 with a loss to LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl, Wisconsin will look to start strong under coach Luke Fickell. The team will hope to iron out some rust before a matchup against Alabama on Sept. 14, and a trip to USC the weekend after.
Badgers fans will also see the first official snaps for Miami transfer quarterback Tyler Van Dyke. With star running back Braelon Allen off to the NFL, the Badgers will most likely rely on Van Dyke's arm and the passing game in 2024.
Western Michigan is in its second season under coach Lance Taylor after ending the 2023 season at 4-8. The Broncos are returning many players, including running back Jalen Buckley, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season.
Wisconsin will hope to rebound from last season and make a push in the new-look Big Ten, and the Badgers will start their campaign in front of the Camp Randall faithful.
