The San Francisco 49ers certainly have been among the busiest teams in the National Football League recently.

San Francisco -- like every other team in the National Football League -- recently had to trim down its roster to 53 players. The 49ers didn't stop there, though. San Francisco has had a few tough decisions to make.

Star receiver Brandon Aiyuk requested a trade earlier in the summer as negotiations for a new contract weren't going well with San Francisco. After plenty of speculation, things finally worked themself out and he will remain with the 49ers for the foreseeable future.

He isn't the only one who has been looking for a new contract. 11-time Pro Bowler Trent Williams has been holding out in hopes of landing a new deal of his own. After plenty of speculation, it seems like a move is imminent.

The 49ers reportedly are "finalizing a new deal" with Williams to keep him around San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Nick Wagoner.

"Trent Williams' holdout is over," Wagoner wrote. "The San Francisco 49ers are finalizing a new deal with Williams, according to his agency, ending their prolonged contract dispute and putting the star left tackle in position to play in next Monday's season opener against the New York Jets. Social media posts from Williams' brother showed the 11-time Pro Bowler returning to the Bay Area on Monday night, and his agency, Elite Loyalty Sports, confirmed Tuesday on social media that the three-time All-Pro was 'headed to SF to finalize a new deal' with the 49ers.

"Williams, 36, has held out of San Francisco's entire training camp, accruing more than $4 million in fines for missing every practice and three preseason games. Williams, who spent his time away from the team at home in Houston preparing for the upcoming season, had been owed $20.05 million this season under the six-year, $138.1 million deal he signed in 2021."

The 49ers seem to have gotten their man.
