The San Francisco 49ers don't have much time left until the National Football League's deadline to trim rosters down to 53 players.

San Francisco has been busy throughout the day on Tuesday making cuts. They still have more work to do before the deadline, but the 49ers reportedly already have cut veteran wide receiver Robbie Chosen, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.

"Per sources, the 49ers have made the following cuts: WR Robbie Chosen (and) QB Tanner Mordecai," Barrows said. "Both are possibilities to the practice squad, which the team will start assembling tomorrow."

Chosen at one point was an up-and-coming receiver in the National Football League. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the New York Jets and had three seasons of at least 752 receiving yards. He also had five or more touchdowns in three of the four seasons with the Jets.

The best season of his career was in 2020 as a member of the Carolina Panthers when he 1,096 receiving yards on 95 catches to go along with three touchdown receptions.

He hasn't had as much success over the last two seasons but has been looking to land a spot with the 49ers this summer. He's just 31 years old and could still return to the team on the practice squad but it's too early to tell.

Hopefully, things work out for Chosen in the near future as he hits the open market.
