The 2024 National Football League regular season will be here before you know it.

After what has felt like an excruciatingly long few months, real football is just a few weeks away from kicking off. The new season is almost here but each National Football League franchise will have to trim down the rosters ahead of the new campaign.

The San Francisco 49ers are in a great position heading into the new season, but there will be plenty of players who currently are on the roster who don't make it to the actual season. Second-year tight end Cameron Latu is one player who is in danger of getting cut, according to Bleacher Report's David Kenyon.

"San Francisco 49ers: Cameron Latu, TE," Kenyon said. "Selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, Cameron Latu hasn't made a big impact in his brief time on the Niners. He didn't have a regular-season appearance last year and looks to be trailing Eric Saubert and Brayden Willis in the competition to back up George Kittle."

It's not too surprising that Latu has been mentioned as someone who could end up getting cut.
The 49ers will have to make a lot of tough decisions and the tight end position is one that the club is deep at. Kittle clearly is the top guy and will be for the foreseeable future.

At this point, don't be too shocked if Latu ends up being one of the players cut in the near future. If that does end up being the case, hopefully, he can latch on with a new team before the 2024 campaign kicks off.
