The 49ers and Titans will get together in Nashville, culminating Week 1 of the NFL preseason Saturday night slate.
The teams are trending in different directions. In February, San Francisco was on the doorstep of a Super Bowl win against Kansas City. The 49ers return a boatload of talent, including Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and a solid core defensive unit.
The Titans have struggled immensely in recent seasons despite playoff appearances here and there, but even Derrick Henry couldn’t deliver the Titans’ first Super Bowl win and now he has moved on to Baltimore.
Given that it’s the preseason, the stakes remain minimal, but for rookies, it’s their chance to shine under the bright lights of the NFL.
