Training camp finally almost is upon us.

With training camp approaching, that means we aren't too far away from the 2024 National Football League season at this point.

The Chicago Bears will end up being one of the most intriguing teams to look out for when the season kicks off. Chicago had a rough 2023 campaign but has real playoff hopes after a great offseason.

Chicago selected young phenom Caleb Williams and added Keenan Allen and D'Andre Swift to help form what is expected to be a very strong offense.

There still are some question marks on the defensive side of the football, but the team is expected to be improved and has a shot at the playoffs.

Although there is a lot of excitement swirling around the team, there will be some tough decisions that need to be made soon. Chicago will have to trim down the roster and one player who was mentioned as a "surprise cut candidate" is Bears running back Khalil Herbert by A to Z Sports' Kole Noble.

"Khalil Herbert seems to be the odd man out in the Bears backfield following the addition of D’Andre Swift," Noble said. "The dynamic free agent pickup took the majority of snaps with the first team during OTAs and minicamp with second-year back Roschon Johnson behind him in the pecking order. With a new pass-oriented scheme coming to Chicago, Herbert’s days might be numbered heading into training camp and he might be playing in another uniform in 2024."

Swift certainly will help Chicago out but his addition seems to have made Herbert expendable with Johnson also on the roster. This isn't the first time Herbert has been mentioned as a cut candidate and may not be the last.
