There still is plenty of time left for the Green Bay Packers to make a big move to help the defense.

Green Bay performed above expectations in 2023 and now has even higher expectations for the upcoming campaign. The Packers are a young squad with plenty of talent with another year under their belt.

They should be able to compete for a playoff spot once again and hopefully make it a little further. There is a bright future in Green Bay, but the team shouldn't get complacent. The Packers have the eighth-most cap space remaining at just under $27 million and should use it to help on defense.

Safety has been a spot that has been speculated that could use some help. There are a few options still out there who could help including former Denver Broncos superstar Justin Simmons.

He was named an All-Pro in four of the last five seasons and now is available in free agency. The safety market has moved especially slowly and somehow he still is available.

Green Bay certainly could afford his price tag at this point and training camp quickly is approaching so he likely will want to sign soon. The Packers need some help at safety and Simmons is looking for another opportunity.

Simmons racked up three interceptions and eight passes defended in 2023 with Denver. The Packers could use that level of production. Why not take a chance on him before someone else can?
