The 2024 National Football League season will be here before we know it and the Green Bay Packers won't have one of their stars back with the team.

Green Bay released star tackle David Bakhtiari in March after 11 seasons with the team but there has been some speculation that the two sides could come back together on a new deal. While this was the case, it doesn't sound like it will be the case, according to Bakhtiari on "The Adam Schefter Podcast."

"Although Bakhtiari wants to continue his career, he doesn't expect that to mean a reunion with Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love, the past two quarterbacks he has protected. He noted that Rodgers' New York Jets selected left tackle Olu Fashanu in the first round, signed All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith in free agency, and traded for right tackle Morgan Moses. And if the Packers 'wanted me to protect (Jordan Love), they wouldn't have fired me.'"

Bakhtiari at one point was one of the top tackles in football but injuries have derailed his career over the last few seasons. He has appeared in just 13 games over the last three seasons and has been linked to a handful of teams in free agency.

He certainly will have another opportunity in 2024 and seems to be getting healthier but it doesn't sound like there is any chance he will be back in Green Bay.
