There are plenty of players available who could help the Green Bay Packers right now.
Green Bay trimmed down the roster on Tuesday to 53 players on Tuesday but there could be some more movement in the coming days. There are plenty of players available looking for new opportunities and one who has been mentioned as a fit for the Packers is former New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Jalen Mills, by Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox.
"Jalen Mills was released from the non-football injury list by the Giants on August 15," Knox said. "He never participated in camp for New York because of a calf issue, but he's worth a look now. The converted cornerback appeared in 17 games with eight starts for the Patriots last season and recorded 45 tackles, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection.
"The Packers could use help at safety, even though they added Xavier McKinney in free agency and used a second-round pick on Georgia's Javon Bullard. The rookie impressed during training camp, but it couldn't hurt to add a little more experience behind him, McKinney and fourth-round rookie Evan Williams."
Mills has seen time at cornerback and safety throughout his career to this point and certainly is one of the more intriguing players available on the open market after recently being released.
