The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the most talked about teams in football recently.

Most of the chatter swirling around the 49ers has been about the future of star receiver Brandon Aiyuk. While that is an important topic and hopefully they can get a new contract done, there are other things San Francisco should be considering as well.

San Francisco currently has the sixth-most cap space left at just over $30 million and certainly could afford to add some more star power to the defense.

There are some intriguing free agents still available and one who could make a lot of sense for the 49ers at this point in the offseason is former Seattle Seahawks superstar Jamal Adams.

He has dealt with injuries over the last two seasons and appeared in just 10 games. While this is the case, he likely could provide a solid boost to the 49ers' secondary at a discount. Because of his injuries, he likely won't cost as much as he would have.

Adams is just 28 years old and is a three-time All-Pro. If he's healthy, he could provide another dynamic defensive playmaker to one of the top Super Bowl contenders. He likely will be looking to boost his value on a short-term deal, and the 49ers could give him a chance to compete for a Super Bowl.

A partnership seems like a great choice for both sides. San Francisco has plenty of money left to spend. Why not give a little to the star safety in free agency?
