The Jacksonville Jaguars have waived kicker Riley Patterson, the team announced Monday evening. Patterson was on his second stint with the team, having been the team’s primary placekicker for the 2022 season.

That season, Patterson went 30-for-35 on field goal attempts, with a career-long of 53 yards. He also went 36-for-37 on extra points and had 50% of his kickoffs result in a touchback as the team’s kickoff specialist.

Patterson came to the Jaguars for the 2022 season after spending his rookie season with the Detroit Lions, a team he went back to after the Jaguars let him go after his first stint with the team. Patterson served as the Lions kicker for 13 games of the 2023 season after spending a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns for two games.

With Patterson’s release, the Jaguars currently have just one kicker on the depth chart, their sixth-round draft pick Cam Little. Unless the Jaguars sign someone, Little will be the team’s kicker heading into the 2024 season.
