The Las Vegas Raiders are taking part in their Allegiant Stadium practice that's open to fans on Wednesday and the team gave injury updates on two offensive linemen, including guard Jackson Powers-Johnson and right tackle Thayer Munford Jr.
Powers-Johnson has been activated off the active/physically unable to perform list and is returning to practice in a limited fashion, head coach Antonio Pierce announced.
Powers-Johnson has been sidelined since organized team activities due to a concussion, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic.
Pierce added that the 2024 second-round pick is unlikely to start in Week 1 and the team will ease him back in. Veteran Cody Whitehair, who has been playing left guard all offseason, will get the starting nod if Powers-Johnson doesn't.
Powers-Johnson not starting was pretty much the expectation at this point. After all, he has missed a ton of time. Assuming he stays healthy and develops, it's realistic to think he can grab the job at some point after the season starts.
Another offensive lineman dealing with an injury is Munford Jr., who has an issue with his finger. The projected starting right tackle won't practice after suffering the injury on Tuesday. The severity remains unknown.
Rookie DJ Glaze is expected to handle at least the majority of the first-team duties with Munford sidelined. He also replaced Munford a few weeks back when the former seventh-round pick injured his hand.
