The Green Bay Packers have a chance to take a massive step forward in 2024.

Green Bay surprised some people in 2023 but should be even better next season. The Packers have been busy this offseason and should be in a good place when the 2024 campaign rolls around. Green Bay has a big decision to make about the future of star quarterback Jordan Love, but it seems like he will be around for the foreseeable future.

The Packers have had a strong offseason and still have some money left to spend. Green Bay has the eighth-most cap space left with just under $27 and certainly could afford to bring in another star.

One player who could make a lot of sense for Green Bay is former Miami Dolphins superstar cornerback Xavien Howard. Cornerback has been mentioned as an area that could use a boost for the Packers and Howard is ranked as the top one available in free agency by NFL Trade Rumors.

Howard is ranked as the second-best player still available in free agency and it isn't hard to see why. He is just 30 years old and has four Pro Bowl selections under his belt.

He led the league in interceptions twice in 2018 with seven and in 2020 with 10 and certainly could be an intriguing option to bolster the Packers' secondary. Howard appeared in 13 games last season with the Dolphins and had one interception, 12 passes defended, and 45 total tackles.

Green Bay certainly has the money and could afford Howard if it wants. The Packers have been linked to multiple players as options to help bolster the secondary recently, including former Dallas Cowboys star Stephon Gilmore. It seems like they still want to add, but if they want to sign someone like Howard they are going to have to act fast before another franchise can do so.
