How will the Green Bay Packers handle the rest of camp before the 2024 campaign kicks off?

There's a lot to like about this Packers team. Green Bay looked good last year and widely is expected to take another step forward in 2024. The Packers could be a real threat in the postseason and in years to come thanks in large part to Jordan Love and all of the young weapons around him on both sides of the ball.

Green Bay has a great roster on paper, but it will have to make some tough decisions over the next month as teams start having to trim down rosters. This means that the Packers will have to cut players and possibly could even make a trade or two.

Pro Football Network's Anthony DiBona put together a list of one player from each franchise that could be traded this summer and mentioned Packers Preston Smith as a possible option.

"Green Bay Packers: Preston Smith, EDGE," DiBona said. "After signing Rashan Gary to a massive contract extension, the Green Bay Packers could look to move on from Preston Smith this season. The Packers selected Lukas Van Ness as No. 13 overall in 2023, and it’s possible he will replace Smith moving forward.

"Smith has enjoyed plenty of success in Green Bay, but if the Packers were to trade him this season, they would potentially save a total of $37.5 million."

Smith was good last year for the Packers and started all 17 games and tallied eight sacks. That's a solid level of production so if the Packers are going to part ways with him there has got to be a reason why.
