Manchester United’s Casemiro could be on the move, with Galatasaray showing interest in the Brazilian midfielder.

The Turkish champions have added Casemiro to their shortlist as they look to strengthen their squad before their transfer window closes on September 13.

Casemiro's position at Manchester United has come under scrutiny following his disappointing performance in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

The 32-year-old was substituted at halftime after two costly mistakes led to Liverpool's first two goals.

Casemiro future at Old Trafford in doubt

With the recent arrival of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who joined United in a £50 million ($65.5m) deal from Paris Saint-Germain, Casemiro's role as a regular starter is now uncertain.

Despite still having two years left on his contract, Casemiro’s high wages, reportedly over £300,000 a week, pose a significant challenge for Galatasaray.

A source has indicated that any potential deal may hinge on whether Manchester United are willing to cover a portion of his salary. United have been open to offers for Casemiro throughout the summer, but anticipated interest from Saudi clubs did not materialize.

United are keen to reduce their wage bill, having already parted ways with high earners like Cristiano Ronaldo, David de Gea, and Anthony Martial. With Galatasaray making a surprise loan move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, they are now targeting Casemiro to boost their midfield.

As the Turkish transfer window draws to a close, the ball is in Manchester United’s court to decide if they will let Casemiro go or keep him as they navigate the challenges of the new season.
