Salah's deal at Anfield expires in 2025, with rumoured links to the Saudi Pro League still on the horizon for Egypt international, if he does not extend his stay in Liverpool.

His remarks and a lack of firm action from the club has allowed the rumour mill to restart with multiple options open to the 32-year-old.

Despite concern amongst Liverpool fans over what Salah may do, an exclusive report from the Liverpool Echo indicates his preference is to sign an renewal, which will likely tie him to the club until 2027.

The local outlet claims sources have assured them Salah wants to commit himself to Liverpool with former teammate Sadio Mane's move to Saudi Arabia a reminder of how such transfers can work out.

The key factor is Salah's decision also lies with his family, who are settled in the North West, with his young daughter enrolled in school.

That will be a crucial part of Salah's decision with the onus now on the club to bring forward negotiations before the end of 2024.
