Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham is actively seeking to sign a new striker this month, one who fits his specific requirements.

The club has been linked with several forwards this summer as Postecoglou aims to bolster his attacking options. Due to Richarlison's ongoing recovery from injury, the Australian has had to deploy midfielder Dejan Kulusevski as a makeshift striker during the pre-season tour in Japan and South Korea.

Among the potential targets is Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke, who had an impressive season, scoring 21 goals, including 19 in the Premier League. Spurs are particularly interested in Solanke as he would help meet their homegrown player requirements.

However, securing Solanke's services will not be easy, as Bournemouth insists that his £65 million release clause must be met for him to leave this summer. Aston Villa's Cameroon Archercould be a potential replace.

This hefty price tag has raised doubts about whether Tottenham is willing to make such a significant financial commitment.

Now, according to Football London, the Lilywhites could get creative and explore the possibility of including players in a swap deal to get near to that substantial figure.

With Bournemouth's owner Bill Foley acknowledging the release clause, it seems unlikely that Solanke will be sold without meeting that valuation. Additionally, Liverpool is set to receive 20% of any profit from his sale, complicating matters further for Spurs.

It also remains to be seen whether Bournemouth are ready to sell their star striker in a player-plus-cash deal.
