As the focus shifts towards the fast-approaching 2022/23 Premier League season, a parade of new kits are being unveiled each and every day.

The new shirts and designs inevitably range from bestsellers to irredeemable monstrosities, and are being quickly moved into view as the concept designs fade away and teams look to market their new looks.

From classic home kits to bold away choices and wacky third kit designs, the Premier League has it all when it comes to the latest looks on the field. Kit makers Nike, Adidas, Umbro, and more are putting their best foot forward, but whether it actually comes together is for you to decide.

The Sporting News brings you all shirt designs known and announced so far, along with as much information from believable leaks as is available.

Confirmed Premier League new kits 2022/23

Arsenal

There could be a somewhat funereal feel to Arsenal's final home game of the season, when the club's Champions League aspirations will be extinguished if arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur earn a point in their simultaneous closer at relegated Norwich City.

There will, however, be a bright spark in the form of a sharp new home kit on display, and a donation from each shirt towards local community projects, including a bowls club who received a visit from Bukayo Saka in the promotional video, should help to raise the feelgood factor.

The key feature is a collar containing the zigzag 'lightning' detail that the club has occasionally added to strips since the mid-1990s, while the Gunners' new away kit is expected to be their first in black from Adidas.

A new all-black away kit with gold metallic details was released by the club on July 18 to debut during Arsenal's pre-season friendly at Orlando City two days later.

The kit combines a bronze cannon badge and bronze trims with an all-over AFC graphic which the club says is inspired by the Arsenal lettering fans pass on their way to Emirates Stadium.

Fittingly for a shirt launched in the US, Arsenal want the design to celebrate fans setting up their own Gunners community in places far-flung from north London.

Aston Mack, the founder of the Orlando Freedom Fighters, was part of the kit launch. The activist was seen in his Arsenal shirt when he took part in a Black Lives Matter demonstration in the city in July 2020.

“As a proud Orlando Gooner, to me, the Arsenal jersey means strength, solidarity and pride," Mack told the club. "When I wear the jersey, it takes me to another world. I feel protected, I feel connected, I feel part of a bigger community.

“I’m proud of Arsenal for presenting what our jersey means to people like me. It’s more than a jersey: it’s a representation of home and family, no matter where we’re from or where we live.”

Arsenal's third shirt next season is likely to be the most polarising of the new designs. Never before has the club played in pink, let alone the bright pink of the design that is instantly reminiscent of Inter Miami's brash 'true pink' shirt this season.

Aston Villa

Ahead of their first full season under Steven Gerrard, Villa supporters have a pair of designs to choose from.

British manufacturers Castore — headquartered in Manchester — have made Villa their third Premier League partners. Villa's existing three-year deal with Kappa expired at the end of last season.

No surprise to see claret and blue retained as the Villans' home shirt, although the vertical line imprints running through the Kappa design will purportedly be replaced with a solid colour, and the hooped neck with a v-shaped one.

Villa's change strip is a light blue one with a thin claret trim, with further yellow-black and orange-black designs.

Bournemouth

The Cherries are back in the Premier League after a season away, bouncing back from being relegated in 2020/21 by finishing second in the Championship with a game to spare this season.

The home kit this season is a bold design that works well, a series of black lightning bolts in a vertical stripe pattern down a red background.

The away kit is also an extremely bold concept, but doesn't work quite as well. It features a tropical design with large fern leaves strewn across a purple and pink background. There are different colored sleeves that make the shirt look like a no-sleeve on top of a t-shirt.

Brentford

Thomas Frank's Brentford have performed commendably in their Umbro-designed red and white stripes this season, so supporters seeking to ward off second-season syndrome may be pleased to learn that the kit is staying until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The Bees have, however, made a change for the away kit, moving to a light pastel blue-green shirt that's easy on the eyes. This away kit will also be for two seasons, staggered with the home kit.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton have been in the headlines recently after sponsors American Express launched a scheme inviting 250 supporters to replace old kits with the new designs that will be released this summer.

Albion rarely deviate too much from the traditional blue and white stripes of their home kit. The club's mint away shirt was hugely popular this season, with some supporters waiting for a mid-season resupply from Nike to get their hands on one.

This time Albion have released an orange-looking new away kit which they describe as crimson, including black trim.

Defender Lewis Dunk, midfielder Pascal Gross and forward Danielle Carter are among the players to have modelled the new design.

Chelsea

The Blues to this point have only confirmed their home kit as of now, and it's a simple look that features a blue shirt with a subtle cross-hatch pattern in the background.

The collar has a highlighter blue design, which is a callback to 1952 manager Ted Drake whose "lion rampant regardant" concept that's featured on the club's badge. That bright blue color also outlines the Nike check on the front.

The rumored away kit takes that design on the home kit's collar and makes it the central feature. Chlorine isn't a word you often associate with kit designs, but that's how it has been described in some places. Chelsea's new third shirt is said to be based on a solid sesame colour with black and orange trim.

Crystal Palace

Palace went for diagonal designs on their red and blue home kit for the first time during 2021/22, and the move proved a good omen during an impressive rebranding of their style of play by Patrick Vieira in his first managerial season in England.

Under a deal with Puma until 2023, the Eagles opted for a red and blue sash on a yellow away shirt and reached the FA Cup semifinals in a blue and white kit, which bore similarities to former rivals Blackburn Rovers.

The Eagles' new home kit sees the return of the club’s trademark red and blue stripes in a graffiti-style design, together with a white trim around the collar and sleeves. Players including Wilfried Zaha and Cheick Doucoure have modelled it.

The away and third kits utilize the same design, as all three come in a set.

The away kit features the club's 1861 crest, new sponsors Cinch and Technical Partner Macron, placing Palace's red and blue colours in a central strip on the front of the shirt which the club says has the effect of a painted canvas.

The sleeves are embossed with the eagle from the club's crest, with the palace Palace badge in a suede-based, silicone patch application. The text 'EAGLES' is printed on the rear half-moon of the shirt and the rib-knit collar, with a dual pinstripe in red and blue.

Eberechi Eze and Joachim Andersen were among the stars showing off the first shirt released by Palace this summer, which Chairman Steve Parish is clearly impressed by.

“Our white away kits have always been hugely popular, and this iteration is sure to be well received by our supporters," he said.

"This striking design gives a modern twist to our traditional white away kits with red and blue trim, and incorporates our remarkable history with our 1861 crest.

"I look forward to seeing the team notch up some brilliant results on the road in white this season.”

Everton

Everton's club-record £9 million ($11.2 million) deal with Hummel runs until 2023, resulting in a block-blue home shirt carrying the manufacturer's arrow logo along the shoulder.

The club's away kit is a much bolder choice, going with pink as the background color with navy blue diamonds featured around the front. It's a very busy design that hasn't been received terribly well.

Fulham

The 2021/22 home pinstripe white and black kit was a Fulham classic in a season that will go down as one to remember after they rocketed back to the Premier League by winning the Championship.

This year's home kit does away with the pinstripes, moving back to a pure white background with the adidas stripes along the shoulders and a black underarm stripe.

While last season's away kit was black, this year's is a more eye-popping choice as the Cottagers go with bright neon green. There's a black pattern across the front that's meant to resemble the brickwork of Craven Cottage.

Leeds United

With only a home kit released for much of the summer, Leeds United have finally dropped their away kit as well after issuing an apology for the delay. A third kit has been teased but not yet released.

The home kit presents a clean white shirt with few amenities. The goalkeeper will wear black at home with a pentagonal background pattern underneath the white logos.

The away kit stays true to the club's colors but presents them in a unique splash design that works well, with the blue splotched across the yellow background.

Leeds described their deal with Adidas as record-breaking when they signed a five-year deal with the manufacturers ahead of their return to the Premier League in 2020 following a 16-year absence.

Leicester City

Like Leeds, only a home kit has been released by Leicester City to this point. Leicester City have a deal with Adidas through 2023, and the German kit-maker put together a collared choice for the Foxes.

Leaks suggest a white away kit with muted gold shoulders and sleeves which presents a sort of sepia look.

Liverpool

Liverpool are the first team out of the traps with a new home kit, releasing a new Nike design that is slightly darker than this season's first choice.

Unveiled for pre-order at the start of May, the shirt features logos in white and beige and has an updated tribute to the victims of the Hillsborough disaster beneath its circular collar.

The symbol has been updated to include the number 97 after Andrew Devine, who was badly injured but not among the 96 people initially killed in the 1989 stadium disaster, died in 2021.

The sight of two England midfielders, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, in the first glimpses of City's new kit feels appropriate: the design is a tribute to one of their predecessors for club and country.

Liverpool's new away shirt is a psychedelic number featuring swirls of white and blue, among other colours in a design that is said to have been inspired by the city's dance heritage and the genre during the 1990s.

Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho are a few of the players to have modelled the top, which is set for a full release on August 19.

“We’re excited for the fans to see the new away kit from Nike,” said captain Jordan Henderson. “It’s not often we get to wear a jersey on the day of the reveal, so it will be a special moment for the squad to show off the new design in our first pre-season fixture.”

Alisson and his fellow shot-stoppers have already modelled a lilac goalkeeping shirt.

The away kit, meanwhile, is a bold choice that some may find to be an eyesore. It's a psychedelic design that features a white background and colored squiggly lines punctuated by a black Standard Chartered logo.

Captain Jordan Henderson, star striker Mohamed Salah and new signing Darwin Nunez are among the players to have modelled the club's new third kit, which features a banner made by Reds fan and flag-maker Mark Sweatman.

The dark atomic teal and rio teal main colours accompany a siren red sleeve cuff and 97 stars to represent each away win or trophy victory for the Reds in Europe, as well as their locations.

The promotional video was filmed at the city's Olympia and soundtracked by Liverpool-supporting band The Cheap Thrills.

The back of the shirt contains the 97 emblem within the Eternal Flames at the nape of the neck — a tribute to those who lost their lives at Hillsborough.

Manchester City

The sight of two England midfielders, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden, in the first glimpses of City's new kit feels appropriate: the design is a tribute to one of their predecessors for club and country.

Colin Bell is considered by many to be City's greatest ever player thanks to his exceptional career with the club between 1966 and 1979. In 2004, shortly after moving to the Etihad Stadium, City named a stand at the ground after Bell, who was also a coach at the club and received national honours in the same year.

With a circular maroon collar, sleeve cuffs and badges in the centre of the shirt, the new home kit is a tribute to the designs worn by Bell and his teammates during the early 1970s, when Bell was on his way to scoring a total of 153 goals for City. That makes him the club's fourth-highest scorer of all time on a list headed by Sergio Aguero.

Vicky Losada, a midfielder for City's women's team by whom Bell would have been just as impressed, also models the shirt, and another figure with experience in Spain's midfield, Pep Guardiola, can be seen donning casual wear with a theme of maroon vertical stripes against light blue alongside John Stones, Kyle Walker and Ellie Roebuck on Puma's website.

City's 2021/22 away shirt, which was much-maligned in some quarters, was replaced by a black and red kit that features yellow accents, something very familiar for Kevin de Bruyne and his days in a Belgium international kit.

The third kit, released just a day before the start of the Premier League season, features black horizontal hoops over top a pastel neon green background.

Manchester United

At a time when mid-90s throwbacks are all the rage, United have gone for a 1994-inspired triangular design on the white collar of their rumoured dark red home shirt for 2022/23.

Designed by Adidas, the shirt features a button, black lines across the shoulders, a subtle pinstripe vertical line running through it and tricolour socks.

Wantaway striker Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Alessia Russo are among the stars to model the kit, as well as club legend Eric Cantona, making good on the club's claim that the shirt is "inspired by icons".

United are returning to their familiar choice of white for their away shirts, including red and white diamonds around a black collar and black trim on the base of the sleeves. All the kits will of course feature the name of new shirt sponsor TeamViewer.

Early leaks have suggested the club's third shirt will contain a zigzag design around the collar in a season that United hope will be restorative under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Newcastle United

For the home kit, Newcastle are sticking to clean black and white stripes, although adding some flair are bright turquoise logos in front and a bright turquoise 'NUFC' on the back.

The release of Newcastle's new away shirt have already stoked a heated reaction. Castore's kit is a deep blue with yellow logos and sleeve. There's also a slight paint drip off the sleeve that adds some depth.

There's a rumored third kit that has not been released, but leaks are doing the rounds on social media showing a white shirt with leaf green logos and trim. It's been compared to the flag of Saudi Arabia, where the new Newcastle owners hail from.

Nottingham Forest

For Nottingham Forest's first top-flight season in 24 years, the Reds have gone with a straight classic home kit, with few frills. It's all Forest red from top to bottom, with white logos. The only added touch is a slight sleeve design that features the famous Trent Bridge just outside the stadium.

Noticeably, the shirt does not include a title sponsor, but that could change before the start of the Premier League season.

The away kit, announced in mid-July, is plain yellow with the sleeve design more prominent, as it comes with a green tone. The shorts are blue with green and yellow trim, plus yellow socks with blue trim.

Southampton

"What does bravery mean to you?" is the question Southampton asked supporters in March, inviting fans to send in videos of up to three minutes in length answering three questions about how they viewed and approached fear.

Some of the respondents to that open call will take part in a Hummel kit launch involving players including Tino Livramento, Oriol Romeu, Ciara Watling and Nico Lawrence, and that has finally dropped. The home kit is a white shirt with a thick red stripe down the middle and the Sportsbet.io logo centered well in front.

The away kit is a bolder design, and one that has produced questionable responses. It's a blue shirt with darker blue swirls around that envokes a nautical feel.

Tottenham Hotspur

Ahead of their return to the Champions League, Tottenham's new home kit is the first in a five-part campaign based around variations on the club's motto, 'To Dare is to Do'.

The lilywhite shirt features the cockerel logo to the left of the chest and the symbol of shirt-makers Nike, who signed a 15-year deal with Spurs in 2018, on the right.

In common with the sleeves, the neck is hooped with neon and volt details. It is made from 100 percent recycled polyester and paired with navy blue shorts and white socks.

London filmmaker Salim Adam has created a video to accompany the launch featuring fans, players and club legends. The art direction is said to have been inspired by revered British artist David Hockney.

"Obviously, Harry Kane looks elite," the club says in one image showing the England captain sitting on a stool in the shirt while appearing to wear a pair of oversized neon glasses.

The away shirt has also garnered mixed reviews, making a splash with neon yellow and purple colors. A few media members compared it to a wetsuit, which isn't exactly a glowing review.

A third kit is coming as well, yet to be officially released, and it's somehow even bolder, with a neon teal bakcground covered up by what look like paint splotches or waves.

West Ham United

The West Ham home kit immediately evokes memories of the strip worn by the Hammers during the early 1990s at Upton Park, with a classic design and a collar that works along with the rest of the shirt.

The away kit is a simple black design that has a colorful pattern on the sleeves. It's a clean look, but it could have been much bolder, as the goalkeeper kit spread that same colorful pattern across the top of the kit and it works quite well.

Wolves

Anyone not feeling brave enough to go for the bold away and third kits may find some relief if the look of the new Castore home shirt, which is amber, black and white with black shorts. It's a classic Wolves look that features a black stripe along the shoulders.

The away kit is a more garish look, which features a turquoise green background and a mismatched triangle pattern in the background.

The third kit is yet to be released, but rumors say it's a pink shirt which may receive a wide range of reviews.
