Kylian Mbappe’s social media took the football world by storm on Wednesday night, but not in the way anyone expected.

The Real Madrid star’s Twitter/X account was hacked, leading to a series of controversial posts that sent fans into a frenzy.

The person using Mbappe's account posted numerous tweets, starting with a surprising declaration: “Manchester is Red.” That immediately sparked speculation about a potential move to Manchester United, and set alarm bells ringing that the superstar was not actually in control of his own account.

But the surprise posts didn’t stop there; they also included a dig at Lionel Messi, calling him a "midget" and declaring Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest football player of all time.

In a bizarre twist, the hacker also promoted a cryptocurrency called 'MBAPPE' token, which briefly skyrocketed in value before crashing to zero. One lucky user even claimed to have made a massive profit from the sudden surge.

Fans and social media users quickly reacted to the posts, with some mocking Mbappe’s apparent support for United and others criticizing his PR team for not acting faster. The tweets were deleted soon afterwards, but the damage was already done.

One of  the hacker's most notable posts weighed into the GOAT debate, and took aim at Messi, who Mbappe played with at PSG before his summer move to the Bernabeau.

Another teased a potential free transfer to Man United, and attempted to troll their EPL rivals, Manchester City.

Other posts apparently from the superstar mocked Tottenham's lack of trophies, criticized fellow London EPL club Chelsea and issued an expletive-laden suggestion that he would never return to former club PSG.

On the pitch, Real coach Carlo Ancelotti will be keen for the French icon to put any distractions caused by his unwanted social media activity aside. Mbappe's recent move to Spain has been closely watched, and while he made a strong debut by scoring in the UEFA Super Cup, he has yet to find the back of the net in La Liga.
