John Cena, as it turns out, isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Granted, he still plans on ending his retirement tour in December 2025, slated to begin in January of that same year — having revealed how many bookings to expect — but there’s now a guarantee that he’ll still be involved with WWE in some way, shape or form once the tour concludes.

That’s because Cena has signed a contract extension with WWE that goes well beyond the 2025 calendar year, he confirmed on The Club ShayShay Podcast with Shannon Sharpe, via PWInsider

This can only be viewed as fantastic news.

Many wondered if Cena, whose Hollywood schedule is very demanding, would essentially disappear from WWE once his retirement tour met its end. That is clearly not the case, and the Universe will see him on occasion to help steer and/or further storylines — as he has at times in the past.

Cena is tied with Ric Flair for most titles in WWE history and has a very real chance at dethroning the Nature Boy to become the lone owner of the mantle, and while Flair is fine with that, he’d rather see it accomplished by Charlotte Flair; and understandably so.

We’ll have to wait for 2025 to see how it all unfolds, but at least it’s confirmed we’ll get more of Cena into the foreseeable future.
