In a wildly entertaining turn of events, it appears DAMAGE CTRL might be in the midst of a face turn and while that opens up the discussion of former WWE Women’s Champion and ex-leader of the faction, Bayley, to potentially rejoin them, they’ve got a major issue to deal with within their ranks currently: an injury to Dakota Kai.

On this week’s episode of RAW, the WWE announced Kai suffered a torn meniscus that will require surgery to repair and she is expected to miss upwards of 10 weeks during her rehab period — marking her second major knee injury in recent history after suffering a torn ACL in 2022.

The injury occurred on the Aug. 5 episode of RAW when he was attacked backstage by the faction now known as the “Pure Fusion Collective” — namely Zoey Stark, Shayne Baszler and Sonya DeVille.

DeVille is herself only recently returning from a torn ACL, one that forced her to vacate the women’s tag title alongside Chelsea Green, that belt being passed to Piper Niven at the time.

The DAMAGE CTRL faction was already running a bit light due to the extended absence of former champion Asuka, who’s been sidelined for months now with a knee injury of her own.

That leaves, at the moment, only Kairi Zane and Iyo Sky to hold down the fort but, considering what they’re up against, they’re likely gonna need an assist.

One name definitely comes to mind here.

It's someone who used to hug a lot.
