Is boxing in the Paris 2024 Olympics?

Boxing has been a staple of the modern Olympic schedule for the past 120 years and it will feature again at the Paris Games in 2024. The tournament will be televised on NBC (Peacock) in the U.S. and the BBC in the U.K.

Except for the Sweden Games staged in 1912, boxing has featured in every Olympiad since 1904. The sport was banned in Sweden and therefore removed from the schedule, but it returned in 1916 when the Games took place in Berlin.

Women’s boxing was added to the Olympic roster in 2012 when the Games came to London. The women’s sport has thrived under Olympic regulations and has served as a perfect springboard to successful professional careers.

When does boxing start at the Paris Olympic Games?

Olympic boxing begins Saturday, July 27, and concludes on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Where will boxing take place at the Paris Olympic Games?

Most of the boxing will take place at the North Paris Arena. However, some of the semifinals and all the finals are set to take place at Rolland-Garros. This switch takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

How many weight classes will there be at the Paris Olympic Games?

At Paris 2024, there will be 13 weight classes, seven for the men and six for the women.

There will be 249 boxers (125 male and 124 female).
