However, off-field issues have plagued the tournament for a while, starting from the constant schedule changes due to various reasons.

One of the more recent issues has been the lack of tickets for fans. When attempting to book tickets for matches online, fans have been left waiting for close to 5-6 hours before leaving empty handed.

On Monday, former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad took to social media to express his thoughts.

What did Venkatesh Prasad say about World Cup tickets fiasco?

Prasad said that the ticket booking process "could have been better planned" and that he hopes the BCCI "makes it easier for the fans".

Due to the difficulty in booking tickets, several fans have also taken to social media and accused the BCCI of making less than 10,000 seats available to book at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which has a capacity of over 100,000.
