India sealed the three-match ODI series with a 99-run victory (DLS method) at the Holkar Stadium, Indore.

India recorded their seventh-highest ODI total. Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer scored hundreds. KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav helped India finish on a high with their half-centuries, taking the team to a total of 399/5.

It was always going to be a uphill task for Australia. They lost early wickets too. Rain cut short the innings as the revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs was set for them.

They lost wickets like ninepins thereafter. The partnership between Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood of 77 runs for the ninth wicket was the second-highest for them. This in itself tell how poor the other batters were.

Eventually, Australia got bowled out for 217 runs as India gained an unassailable lead of 2-0.

9:56pm- 50 up for Abbott! He is showing fighting spirit out there. Brilliant counter-attacking innings from him.

9:46pm- Although Abbott and Hazlewood are fighting a lost battle here, it is still a positive for Australia, considering how they are batting. Their partnership has now crossed 50 runs.

9:39PM- DROPPED! Ruturaj Gaikwad loses the ball due to floodlights. Another reprieve for Hazlewood.

9:34pm- DROPPED! Hazlewood plays the cut straight to Shardul at deep point region but the latter puts down a sitter.

9:29pm- WICKET! Adam Zampa backs too far away. The ball turns away and beats him as the bails light up again.

9:26pm- WICKET! It's all happening too fast for Australia. Green could have avoided this run-out. He had almost made his ground but did not bring his bat down to the crease in time.

9:15pm- WICKET! Ravindra Jadeja contributes to the wickets tally. Carey's bat induces an inside-edge as the ball crashes on to the stumps.

Cameron Green is the new batter.

9:03pm- WICKET! Third one for Ashwin. Inglis is the one to depart this time.

Alex Carey comes out to bat.

8:57pm- WICKET! Warner was batting right-handed against Ashwin. The plan did not work as the off-spinner foxes him into an LBW.

8:55pm- 50 up for Warner! Second consecutive half-century for him in the series.

Cut-off time for the match is 9:28 PM. The revised target for Australia in 20 overs would be 174 runs.

7:52pm- Rain has stopped. Covers are being removed.

7:23pm- RAIN STOPS PLAY! Covers are on as it is drizzling now. Seems like a passing shower but the overs have started to reduce.

7:20pm- 50 up for Australia! Warner takes the attack to Ravichandran Ashwin and smashes the spinner for a four. Australia are 56/2 in 9 overs.

7:03pm- Australia are trying to build a partnership. However, they cannot afford to waste deliveries. The score reads 26/2 in 5 overs.

Marnus Labuschagne is the new batter.

6:46 pm- WICKET! Two in two for Prasidh. Steve Smith goes for a golden duck. Smith chases a wide delivery and only manages to edge the ball to first slip.

6:44 pm- WICKET! Prasidh Krishna strikes. Short was searching for quick runs but perished trying to do so, giving an easy catch at the third-man region.

6:38pm- Australia openers David Warner and Matthew Short are out in the middle. Mohammad Shami to open the bowling for India.

6:10pm- Eventually, India fall just short of 400. Magnificent centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill gave India the perfect start. Thereafter, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav all chipped in to ensure the Men in Blue put up a near-insurmountable total. India 399/5 in 50 overs (Jadeja 13*, Suryakumar 72*).

5:49pm- WICKET! That's the end of KL Rahul's innings. Tried to slog this one over the leg side, but misses completely and his leg stump is knocked back. A second wicket for Cameron Green and the Indian captain is out for 52. In comes Ravindra Jadeja. India 355/5 in 46 overs (Jadeja 0*, Suryakumar 43*).

5:44pm- India's lower-middle order is coming to the party here. KL Rahul's crossed 50 off just 35 balls, Kishan hit a brisk 31, and Suryakumar Yadav smashed Cam Green for four sixes in a row to suddenly put 400 back on the cards. How close will they get? India 345/4 in 45 overs (Rahul 51*, Suryakumar 34*).

5:19pm- WICKET! Kishan looking to step on the accelerator and take on Adam Zampa, but mistimes this. It goes straight up, and Carey completes his third catch of the day. A quick 31 for him, in comes Suryakumar Yadav now. India 302/4 in 40.2 overs (Rahul 43*, Suryakumar 0*).

5:15pm- KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan have been in good form of late, and they've continued with aggressive intent here. They'll be looking to push hard in the last 10 now. India 296/3 in 40 overs (Rahul 43*, Kishan 25*).

4:47pm- WICKET! Now Gill departs after reaching three figures! Tried to take on Cameron Green over midwicket, but he gets a leading edge that goes miles in the air before settling in Alex Carey's gloves. He's gone for 104. In comes Ishan Kishan. India 243/3 in 34.5 overs (Rahul 18*, Kishan 0*).

4:28pm- WICKET! Shreyas Iyer had been cramping just as he reached his hundred. Looking to cut loose, he skies this delivery from Abbott, and Short takes a good catch at deep midwicket. It's the end of a brilliant 105 from him. KL Rahul comes to the crease. India 216/2 in 30.5 overs (Rahul 0*, Gill 95*).

4:18pm- The scoring rate has slowed down just a bit, dipping under 7 runs per over for the first time in a while. There is an air of this being just the calm before a storm, however. 350 still very much on as the score has ticked over 200 within 30 overs. Shreyas reached his century off 86 balls, and Gill is closing in on a century as well. India 210/1 in 30 overs (Shreyas 100*, Gill 94*).

3:54pm- The story hasn't changed much since the last update. Still one-way traffic in Indore as Gill and Shreyas make batting look ridiculously easy, albeit on a flat track. With the kind of firepower left in the shed, they could even go up a gear from here. India 187/1 in 25 overs (Shreyas 86*, Gill 85*).

3:34pm- The Indian batters have continued to motor along at nearly 8 runs an over, a fearsome prospect for Australia especially with the batting still to come. Leg-spinner Adam Zampa has extracted a bit of turn, but he's the only bowler who has managed to put up some resistance to the flow of runs. India 158/1 in 20 overs (Shreyas 74*, Gill 69*).

3:13pm- The rain has done nothing to disturb the batters' focus here, as Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill continue to put the Aussies to the sword. One of those games where it's almost as if the match has ceased to be between the batters and bowlers and is instead between the two batters. India 117/1 in 15 overs (Shreyas 45*, Gill 58*).

2:55pm- We're underway here after a short rain delay. Time to see if it continues to rain runs. Last ball of the first Powerplay coming up, Cameron Green to Shubman Gill. Tapped away for a single on the leg side. India 80/1 in 10 overs (Shreyas 34*, Gill 33*).

2:43pm- The umpires have had a look at the ground now, and we have confirmation now of a restart at 2:55pm.

2:30pm- Good news as the covers appear to be coming off already. We could be underway shortly.

2:17pm- RAIN STOPS PLAY- A light drizzle has been falling for the last 5 minutes or so, and the covers have come on. Hopefully this shouldn't be a very long delay. Here's what's happened so far.

The caution of the first five overs has given way to daring, as far as India are concerned. Shreyas Iyer has come out with menacing intent, and has pounced on any delivery marginally off a perfect line and length. Gill was playing a sedate second fiddle, but has started to get in on the act as well. India 79/1 in 9.5 overs (Shreyas 34*, Gill 32*).

1:52pm- It's been a relatively cautious start from India, but that hasn't stopped them from losing an early wicket to the metronomic bowling of Josh Hazlewood. The debutant Johnson has also looked promising, if also a little bit nervous. Early signs, however, still point to a high-scoring match in prospect. India 26/1 in 5 overs (Shreyas 10*, Gill 3*).

1:46pm- WICKET! A classic Hazlewood dismissal! A shade of swing away from the batter, before the ball pitches outside off stump and just holds its line to catch the outside edge. Alex Carey takes a good catch behind the stumps. That's the end of Ruturaj Gaikwad for 8. In comes Shreyas Iyer. India 16/1 in 3.4 overs (Shreyas 0*, Gill 3*).

1:30pm- All set to begin here. Ruturaj Gaikwad is on strike, Spencer Johnson with ball in hand. Left arm over the wicket, too straight and dispatched to the square leg boundary by Gaikwad. India 4/0 in 0.1 overs (Gaikwad 4*, Gill 0*).

12:42pm- There's a bit of early team news, as the BCCI have announced that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah did not travel with the squad to Indore. Mukesh Kumar has been called up to the squad as his replacement.

Lineups: Cummins out for Australia, Prasidh replaces Bumrah for India

India playing XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (c&wk), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna.

Toss: Australia choose to field first

1:05pm- Australia captain Steve Smith has won the toss and chosen to field first. Rahul says India would have done the same.
