The British Open returns this weekend for its 152nd edition from Royal Troon in Scotland. Some of the greatest golfers in the world are said to compete, including the game's best, Scottie Scheffler, who won his second Master's title in three years at Augusta in April.
Elsewhere, other major names will compete across a deep slate of events, including Brian Harman, the 2023 British Open champion, and veteran Rory McIlroy.
Whether fans are tuning in to the British Open for the first time or have done so for years, there are plenty of options in terms of who to support during the weekend, making it one of the biggest golf tournaments of the season.
The tournament winner will earn $3.1 million, a record number. It's an increase of a half-million dollars, clearly demonstrating the evolution of the sport's popularity.
