If the 2024 Major League Baseball regular season were to end today, the Philadelphia Phillies would be the No. 2 seed in the National League.

Philadelphia has been fantastic all season and is loaded with talent. The Phillies have a strong chance of making some noise this fall and are considered to be one of the top contenders to win the World Series this season.

Despite the success and talent throughout the roster, the Phillies likely will be aggressive in free agency this winter. Philadelphia is in a good spot, but it has been said throughout the season that the Phillies could use a boost in the outfield

There will be some options out there who can help and the New York Post's Jon Heyman mentioned the Phillies among the top options for New York Yankees superstar Juan Soto.

"Soto bidding war: Yankees even money," Heyman said. "I'm sticking with the (New York Mets) at five-to-one, second choice. That doesn't leave a lot of room for anybody else. Everybody else is considered a long shot in my book. I have the (Los Angeles Dodgers at 15-to-1, the (San Francisco Giants) at 20-to-1, (the Toronto Blue Jays) at 25-to-1, and the (Philadelphia Phillies), (Boston Red Sox), (Chicago Cubs), and (Washington Nationals)."

If the Phillies somehow could land Soto, they immediately would be considered the favorite to win the World Series in 2025. Philadelphia already is loaded with top-tier talent and reuniting him with fellow superstar Bryce Harper should be a scary thought for opposing teams.

Keep an eye on the Phillies once free agency opens up this winter.
