MLS All Star Game lineups, team news
With Wilfried Nancy coaching, expect to see plenty of his Columbus Crew all stars getting a start on their home ground. There's a plethora of attacking talent to choose from as well, from Denis Bouanga to Cucho Hernandez and Diego Rossi.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are unfortunately out, but it will create opportunities for other players to put their stamp on the game. And Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are still here to represent for Miami.
MLS All Stars projected starting lineup (3-4-3): Burki (GK) — Moreira, Martins, Glad — Rosenberry, Nagbe, Busquets, Alba — Bouanga, Hernandez, Rossi.
The Liga MX Apertura season has just gotten underway before the Leagues Cup break, and Andre-Pierre Gignac, along with Cesar Huerta, both have two goals in their first four games of the season. Coach Andre Jardine from Club America will likely lean on some of his players for the starting lineup before moving to substitutes after halftime.
Liga MX projected starting lineup (3-4-3): Malagon (GK) — Mozo, Orozco, Angulo — Alvarado, Canales, Pizarro, Fidalgo — Huerta, Gignac, Meza.
MLS All Star Game prediction
MLS is back to its North American all stars format after taking a break to play Arsenal last year. MLS won the event in 2022 against Liga MX and tied in 2021. There's a ton of attacking and defending talent on the MLS squad, and if they can keep Gignac and Huerta off the board, the MLS squad will be in a good spot to win.
Prediction: MLS All Stars 3-1 Liga MX All Stars
