The Professional Fighters League returned to action on Friday, June 21, with PFL 5 at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event featured regular-season bouts in the lightweight and light heavyweight divisions.

In the co-main event, 2023 PFL light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay earned a second-round TKO via doctor's stoppage to punch his ticket to the 2024 playoffs as the No. 1 seed.

Kasanganay will face Josh Silveira in the semifinals of the $1 million tournament.

In the main event, Mads Burnell spoiled Clay Collard's homecoming with a unanimous decision win.

Burnell did not qualify for the playoffs, but Collard advanced and will face Brent Primus in the semifinals.

“The Professional Fighters League’s debut in Salt Lake City was an unforgettable event featuring the best athletes in MMA as they continued their million dollar journey,” said PFL CEO Peter Murray. “The PFL Season format makes every fight a must win giving us an unparalleled connection to the fans, while providing unrivaled action with the highest stakes in the sport.”
