Trae Young finished as runner-up in the 3-Point Contest and the Skills Challenge at NBA All-Star Saturday Night. But he still walked away a winner.

Just before the 3-point contest, several fans made a bet with the All-Star. The challenge: Could Young sink a shot from the bleachers at Lucas Oil Stadium? The stakes? A cool $100.

"For the $100!" several fans yelled as Young prepared for the shot from four rows deep in the stands. After a few dribbles, the Hawks guard dropped the ball straight through the net and accepted his prize.

Young finished in second place in the 3-Point Contest to Bucks guard Damian Lillard, who successfully defended his 2023 crown.

Young, Lillard, Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns and Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton all finished tied for first place after the first round and needed a tiebreaker to decide the three finalists. Young, Lillard and Towns advanced, and Lillard's 26 points beat out Young's 24 and Towns' 22 for the win.

The Hawks star also participated in the Skills Challenge as part of team All-Stars alongside 76ers guard Tyrese Maxie and Raptors guard Scottie Barnes. The group finished in second place out of three teams behind hometown Team Pacers, which featured Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin and Myles Turner.

Young made the 2024 All-Star Game, the third of his six-season career, as an injury replacement for Knicks forward Julius Randle. He is averaging 26.7 points and 10.9 assists per game this season for Atlanta, but the Hawks sit a mediocre 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, which likely contributed to his initial snub.
