Florida State advanced to its 11th consecutive NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament as the No. 9 seed and will play No. 8 Alabama at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

The winner of FSU/Alabama will face the winner of Texas and No. 16 seed Drexel in the second round.

Florida State is one of just eight programs to make the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in every season since 2013, joining Baylor, Louisville, Maryland, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and UConn.

The Seminoles are led by All-ACC First Team selections Ta'Niya Latson and Makayla Timpson. They are the first FSU teammates to be named to the All-ACC First Team in the same year since Kiah Gillespie and Nicki Ekhomu in 2020. Timpson was also selected to the ACC All-Defensive Team for the second straight season.

Latson tied for the ACC lead with six 30-point games in conference play. She is averaging 21.4 points, shooting 43.9 percent overall, and picking up 4.2 rebounds per game with 4.4 assists per game.
