The Arizona Wildcats have a once-in-a-generation wide receiver in junior Tetairoa McMillan, and the projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft has the kind of hype headed into 2024 that goes with that type of talent.
McMillan was named to the ESPN Preseason All-American Team on Aug. 14 — one of three Big 12 Conference players named to the team alongside Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II and Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter, who made the team at the All-Purpose spot.
One advantage McMillan has at Arizona is his familiarity with quarterback Noah Fifita, who he was also teammates with at Servite (Calif.) High School.
From ESPN: "One of the best pass-catch combos in college football this season will again be Noah Fifita to McMillan, and it has been that way since they were teammates in high school. The 6-5, 210-pound McMillan is a challenging matchup for any defensive back. He doesn't drop passes and excels at making contested catches. As a true sophomore, McMillan finished with 90 catches for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns. He should be even more polished as a junior."
No.21 Arizona opens the season on Aug. 31 at home against New Mexico.
