There is only one week left until the official 2024 College Football season is underway, and it was just recently announced by head coach Ryan Day who the captains will be for The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Day stated, per the team's official website, that Jack Sawyer, Emeka Egbuka, TreVeyon Henderson, and Cody Simon will lead the Buckeyes this season.

DE Jack Sawyer has played a total of 39 games the past three seasons where he racked up 85 tackles 14 sacks (leads team) and 19.5 tackles-for-loss (second on team). Sawyer looks to continue where he left off last season, where he ranked second amongst all defensive linemen, collecting 48 tackles and 24 solo stops.

WR Emeka Egbuka is poised for yet another phenomenal season. Alongside his Big-Ten honors, Egbuka has accumulated 124 total receptions and over 1,800 yards. Ranked as ESPN's third best pass-catcher for the 2024 season, the veteran receiver looks to add on to his 14 career touchdowns.

RB TreVeyon Henderson is entering this season as a 2023 First Team All-Big Ten member, running for over 2,700 total rushing yards and 37 career touchdowns. Henderson currently ranks 15th in career rushing yards in Ohio State history and eighth in total touchdowns.

LB Cody Simon has played the most games out of all the captains at 44 games, where he has put up 147 total tackles and has been placed as a top five tackler on the team the past three seasons.

With tons of leadership and experience, the Buckeyes look to add to their 39 Big Ten titles and eight national championships.
