College volleyball is just getting started, but ranked matchups are already here. Penn State hosts Louisville in a top-10 showdown.
Last year, the Cardinals swept the Nittany Lions in the programs' first game in 10 years. But there's no way this match will be easy for either squad.
Penn State's Rec Hall is notoriously one of the toughest venues to play in, especially when a ranked team is in town. So no matter that Louisville downed No. 3 Wisconsin in its season opener, the Nittany Lions may be a tougher challenge because of their home-court advantage.
It'll be a battle of the nation's top outside hitters in the Cardinals' Anna DeBeer and the Nittany Lions' Jess Mruzik. Both graduate students, they'll likely make a run for national Player of the Year when the time comes. Both squads are will also continue to incorporate their freshmen, as they'll be key to deep rosters throughout the season.
