The Nico Iamaleava Era begins Saturday in Knoxville, as No. 15 Tennessee hosts Chattanooga to begin the 2024 season.
Iamaleava, a former five-star recruit, made his first career start in the Citrus Bowl last January. In leading the Volunteers to a victory over Iowa, he threw for 151 yards and notched four total touchdowns, including three on the ground.
Now, the redshirt freshman gets the reins to Tennessee's high-powered offense. He's surrounded by weapons like Squirrel Wright, the team's leading-receiver a year ago, and tight end Ethan Davis, which should ease his transition.

Chattanooga, ranked eighth in the FCS coaches poll, begins its sixth season under head coach Rusty Wright. The Mocs finished 8-5 a year ago, and return starting quarterback Chase Artopoeus, who is healthy after missing the end of last season with an injury.
The two teams last played in 2019, a 45-0 drubbing by the Volunteers. The Mocs have two wins in 44 matchups all-time against the Volunteers.
