Of the four teams that joined the Big 12 Conference in 2023, only UCF ended up in a bowl game at the end of the season — college football experts are projecting they’ll be the only one of the four teams to end up in a bowl game again in 2024.

CBS Sports projected the entire College Football Playoff and every bowl game, which includes UCF facing Oregon State in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 28 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

CBS had 10 of 16 teams from the Big 12 making it to the postseason, including Utah and Kansas State in the CFP.

UCF went 6-7 in 2023 — 3-6 in Big 12 play — and lost to Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl. The Knights haven’t won a bowl game since defeating in-state rival Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl following the 2021 season.

Oregon State is one of just two teams left in the Pac-12 Conference along with Washington State after the league’s members spread out between the Big 12, Big Ten Conference and ACC following the 2023 season, including Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado joining the Big 12.
