The San Francisco 49ers have been in the news lately and it doesn't seem like that is going to slow down any time soon.

San Francisco widely is considered to be one of the top contenders to win the Super Bowl in 2024 but its chances could slightly go down if the team decides to trade receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

He has been in trade rumors for the last few months but it sounds like the sage finally will be coming to an end soon. It seemed like he would be traded, but San Francisco and the star receiver reportedly are "really close" on a new deal, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafalo as transcribed by 49ers Webzone's David Bonilla.

"It's really close to being done," Garafolo added. "That's why the 49ers have said, 'We're not going to make a move and trade him away because we feel like we could still get this deal done.'"

The fact that the 49ers could be close to a deal with Aiyuk should be a welcomed sight for San Francisco fans. The 49ers have one of the best rosters in football and having Aiyuk on the outside is a major reason why. He was San Francisco's best receiver in 2023 and it would hurt to lose him.

A deal isn't done yet, but hope is starting to build that Aiyuk may not end up going anywhere.
