The Chicago Bears should be commended for their strong offseason.

Chicago entered the offseason preparing to completely alter the roster. The Bears took Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 National Football League Draft and also have made multiple other intriguing additions, including six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen.

Although it has been a strong offseason, there still is plenty of time left for the Bears to make another move or two.

Bleacher Report's Derrik Klassen put together a list of top options to fill some of the franchise's biggest holes after the draft. He mentioned defensive end as a position of need for the Bears and linked them to former Jacksonville Jaguars Pro Bowler Yannick Ngakoue.

"It's hard to overstate the impact of the Montez Sweat trade last season," Klassen said. "Prior to the move, the Bears' edge rotation was a collection of mid-tier veterans and underdeveloped youngsters. Sweat, a Pro Bowl-caliber player, instantly gave the group a jolt of life...

"If the Bears want to make a more serious push, Sweat cannot be a one-man army on the edge. Having a player of his caliber goes a long way, but nobody else on the roster is either a plus starter or an exciting young prospect... Potential FA/trade candidates: Emmanuel Ogbah (FA), Yannick Ngakoue (FA), (and) Carl Lawson (FA)."

Ngakoue would make a lot of sense for the Bears. He spent the 2023 season with the team and tallied four sacks. He was a Pro Bowler in 2017 with the Jaguars and forced a league-leading six fumbles and racked up 12 sacks that season.

He probably wouldn't cost too much and has experience in the system. Why not consider a reunion?
