Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn gave his players the Labor Day weekend off to spend time with their families.  He encouraged them to be back on Monday ready to work as the team prepares for its Week 1 home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wide receiver Dyami Brown, the Commanders' 82nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, decided to use some of his free time over the weekend to work on his craft.  Brown, a former North Carolina Tar Heel, filmed an Instagram video catching passes saying: "I can't afford a off day."

Fans believe 2024 is his "prove it" season.  In his three previous seasons, he has appeared in 47 games.  He has three career touchdowns and 476 yards receiving.

Brown's position on the team could be tenuous.  Terry McLaurin, Olamide Zaccheaus, and recently signed Noah Coleman occupy the prominent roster positions.  Brown is competing with Luke McCaffrey, Byron Pringle, and Jamison Crowder, also on the wide receivers roster.

The Washington Commanders are on the rise with the new coaching staff and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.  It will be interesting to see how this team's chemistry morphs during the season.  Who will be their playmakers?  Time will tell.
