The 2024 National Football League season quickly is approaching.

The Green Bay Packers will kick off Week 1 action in one week as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil on Friday, September 6th. The season will kick off action the night before on Thursday, September 5th as the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs square off.

Over the next week or so, there could be plenty of movement across the National Football League and Fox Sports' Henry McKenna put together a list of seven hypothetical blockbuster trades before Week 1 and linked former Packers star Davante Adams to the New York Jets.

"New York Jets get: Adams," McKenna said. "Las Vegas Raiders get: 2025 first-round pick. The deal that was meant to be. Aaron Rodgers — who often seems to serve as New York's de-facto general manager — would get to work with one of his favorite receivers again. The Jets are all-in on this season.

The 40-year-old Rodgers has indicated he wants to stick around for two more seasons. This deal would probably encourage him to stay that long and then some. On paper, there would be no more talented team in the NFL than the Jets. They'd probably move into the pole position as the Super Bowl favorite — or get somewhere close to it."

Adams has been in trade rumors throughout the summer but right now it seems likely that he at least will begin the 2024 season with the Raiders. The trade deadline could be a different story. The Jets keep being linked to Adams and it's not hard to see why. It really wouldn't come as a surprise if Adams and Rodgers reunite at some point this season.
